Cicolator Privacy Policy

Your privacy is critically important to us. Your data is your own. We make no claims to it and will only use it according to the policies outlined below.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Cicolator allows you to track your daily calories. Data transmitted outside of the app includes:

1. Syncing to your iCloud account to persist your tracking history, meals, favorites, and other data
2. (When Save to Apple Health is turned on) Saving the calories you log to Apple Health on your device
3. (When you share a meal) Exporting that meal as a file to wherever you choose to send it

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Cicolator does not gather or transmit any Personally-Identifying Information outside of your local device and iCloud account. It only stores your tracking and meals within its own database. Your database is then synced to your iCloud account to be accessible on other iCloud-compatible devices. Cicolator has no servers and does not use any analytics, advertising, or third-party services.

Apple Health

Saving to Apple Health is off by default. If you turn it on in Settings and allow access, Cicolator saves the calories you log as Dietary Energy in the Health app. When you edit or delete an entry in Cicolator, the matching entry in Health is updated or deleted too. Cicolator only writes to Health. It never reads any of your health data.

Health data is stored by Apple in the Health app, not by Cicolator. It is never sent to us, used for advertising, or shared with anyone else. You can turn off access at any time in the Health app or in Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.

Camera, Photos, and Apple Intelligence

When you scan a barcode or read a nutrition label, the camera image or photo you choose is processed entirely on your device and is never saved or uploaded. Features that use Apple Intelligence, such as estimating a meal or refining a nutrition label, run on Apple's on-device model, so what you type or photograph stays on your device.

Versions of Cicolator before 3.0 looked up scanned barcodes with Open Food Facts, which made your IP address visible to that service. Cicolator 3.0 and later no longer does this.

Tips and In-App Purchases

Tips in Cicolator are optional and don't unlock anything. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, so we never see your name, Apple Account, or payment details. Cicolator only checks your purchase history on your device to say thanks after you've tipped.

Cookies

The Cicolator and Featherhour websites don't use cookies, analytics, or any other tracking. Like any website, the hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.

Business Transfers

If Cicolator, or substantially all of its assets, were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Cicolator goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, this policy and its effects may change or be amended. (Since Cicolator does not collect any information about you nor your data it’s quite unlikely this privacy policy will be changed.)

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Cicolator may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Cicolator's sole discretion. Cicolator encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
